Compact, clear controls and makes a good filter-style coffee. Unusually, the coffee basket is flat-bottomed rather than conical but it will still take a 1x4 filter paper which I prefer to use, instead of the basket alone, because it simplifies disposal of the grounds. Don't buy it to match your cream toaster though: the inside of the machine is off-white and the coloured side panels, which is really what you see, are beige/light green .

Arrived promptly. Looks amazing - very retro. Colour is a more dark grey/cream than beige.The machine is easy to set up and the instructions are very clear. I use the timer feature which is really convenient - hot coffee first thing in the morning. You can also select the strength of your brew. The only slight downside is that the hotplate doesn't keep the coffee hot for a very long time, maybe 15mins - the instruction manual does highlight this and gives dire warning on the effect of keeping fresh coffee warm for too long (Don't even consider microwaving it - evidently bad things may happen)The tank is easy to fill and has clear markings. Coffee takes a few minutes to brew and the machine is very quiet when in use. The plug is an EU two pin type but I picked up an adaptor easily.

Due settimane fa si è rotta la prima che avevo da circa 5/6 anni, colore verde ( la vecchia cucina aveva le pareti verdi). Volevo spendere meno ed ho cercato altro, che ho restituito perchè non funzionante, quindi formula che vince non si cambia ed ho ripreso questo modello che ha QUASI tutto.CONTRO- non ha la finestra per vedere il livello dell'acqua, per chi è basso come me, diventa difficile controllarne la quantità inserita, si risolve facilmente utilizzando la brocca ( che è graduta con le tazze) per riempire il serbatoio, considerando che un po' di acqua andrà persa con l'evaporazione.- le prime volte ci si perde tra i tanti tasti ( mode e sel soprattutto) ma dopo 5 anni per me i tasti separati sono molto più comodiPROe devo aggiungere, quasi nessuno ha tutti questi PRO- piastra riscaldata 40 minuti oltre al termine dell'erogazione, MA a differenza di due macchine che ho visto ( ed una era quella restituita) posso spegnere la piastra spegnendo la macchina se non voglio tenere il caffè caldo per tutto quel tempo. Capita che lo si finisca tutto, è inutile tenere la piastra calda inutilemnte ( quella che ho restituito al termine dell'erogazione si spegneva e manteneva la piastra calda, senza possibilità di interrompere se non staccando la spina)- display completo di tutte le informazioni: ora, modalità di erogazione, timer attivo; ma soprattutto dopo un po va in standby e praticamente la luminosità si azzera ( altri mostrano solo orario )- modalità di erogazione: posso scegliere la forza del caffè, normle, medio o forte, ma soprattutto - cosa per me importantissima, visto che siamo solo in due, ha la modalità 1-4 tazze che permette, selezionandolo, di erogare più lentamente l'acqua in modo che il caffè non venga acqua sporca ( la macchinetta restituita aveva il tasto 'forte' ma non funzionava con la programmazione)- timer: resta memorizzato ( ho letto recensioni di altre macchine che in alcuni prodotti deve essere riprogrammato ogni volta) e con il tasto apposito attivo la programmazione , evidenziata nel display dall'icona di un orologio- un tasto per ogni funzione: accenzione, ore, minuti, programmazione, MODE per modificare le impostazioni e SEL per confermare anche nella programmazione- c'è la modalità decalcificazione ( buona abitudine effettuarla periodicamente a seconda del calcare presente nell'acqua)- filtro riutilizzabile che evita l'acquisto dei filtri di carta ( ATTENZIONE, utilizza un filtro piatto sotto, con filtri di carta 80*50 mi pare che sembrano dei cestini, non quelli ad imbuto)STILEè il tratto distintivo di questa macchina del caffè americano, quindi o ti piace o non ti piace, c'è poco da recensire.personalmente l'avrei sostituita con altra macchina perchè non amo molto lo stileCONCLUSIONIper lo stile avrei cambiato modello, ma dopo un tentativo, sorvolo sullo stile e sull'unico CONTRO che ho trovato ( l'assenza delle finestra per il livello acqua nel serbatoio) a favore di tutti i suoi PRO che in macchine di questo prezzo ( 54 € color beje) non si trova, ed a volte neppure in macchine di fascia superiore.Quindi in conclusione ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo ( sperando duri come la precedente, che 5 anni fino ad ora è la media delle nostre macchinette, eccetto una Russel durata solo 2 anni), la macchina inoltre è bel solida a differenza di alcune che sono leggerissime, è comunque fatta di plastica, ma si presenta solida, le plastiche non si piegano.Alla fine se ciò che si cerca sono determinate caratteristiche ( che ripeto, non tutte a questo prezzo hanno) ritengo che sia la scelta migliore che si possa effettuare.
