Due to illness, I had no occasion to try on these shoes until a couple of weeks ago - after the return period ended. I was dismayed when I found an eyelet at the top of one shoe was literally dragged from its position in the hole nearest the top by the thickness (and roughness) of the lace! This seems a total design flaw, perhaps coupled with poor fitting of the metal eyelet. As it is now I will have to purchase a new set of (thinner) laces, and try glueing the eyelet firmly in place for future occasions. These occasions will be few, and far between, rather than more frequently; their older (Velcro’s) cousins will have to continue a while longer.
