I didn't want to spend too much and after looking at recommendations from Reddit, I decided to buy this safety razor. I had narrowed it down to King Gillette or Edwin Jagger and I decided to try this brand.This safety razor is a double edged safety razor where the razor (the metal you insert) is sharp on both sides. It is a typical razor and there is nothing special about the design.I’m new to safety razors, and I have to say, it does the job. I have been using it for a few months now and honestly it's quite nice using a safety razor over the typical cartridge razor.I've used different types of blades with this razor and there has been no issues. I have used Gilette, Wilkinson, Astra and I will be using many more different brands of blades!I haven't had any issues with the safety razor itself. However, in the future if I do encounter any issues, I'll be sure to update this review.

I'm in my 50's,and up to now, I've never thought of using a double edge safety razor, to be honest, having seen my grandad and great grandad using them, i always thought that they would a bit more dangerous than disposables or cartridges razors, you know, more likely to cut yourself, but i was wrong.I have two different cartridge razors and a electric wet and dry shaver, but the price of the replacement cartridges for those is a bit of a joke, sick of paying £16 to £20 for those, so, after a bit of investigation into safety razors, i decided to buy this Edwin Jagger exclusive to Bolo safety razor, and what a revelation, so pleased i did.On opening the box up, and putting the razor together, i thought that the handle was a little short, but it's not been a problem for me, i can hold onto it quite comfortably, i don't have small hands, but i don't have giant hands either.Onto the shaving, i decided to buy the whole kit, brush soap etc, i got Proraso shaving soap in a dish for sensitive skin, it had good reviews, anyway, with a little bit of trepidation, i soaped my face up and proceeded with the shaving, and what a revelation, no need to be nervous about using this razor, no pressing, just let the razor do the work, after the first pass, the shave was easily as good as a cartridge razor, gave my face another soaping, and went over again, and I've got to say it's the best shave I've ever had, no nicks or cuts, and a really close shave, absolutely no need for any worries on that front. And the price i paid for this was actually less than a pack of cartridge replacements. Yes, i know i will have to buy blades for this, but you can get 100 for a fraction of the price, and, they're easily recyclable, being as they're all metal.To add, i don't shave every day, 2 or 3 times a week, and i don't have coarse facial hair, so for me this razor is great, for others, i wouldn't know, but if you are looking for a first double edge safety razor, from my experience i would 100% recommend this, a nice size, nice weight, good looking, easy to use razor, well made.

I'm sixty, and believe it or not I've never used a safety razor. When I started shaving, it was with a Gillette disposable razor. I flirted with an electric razor for a couple of weeks, but soon returned to disposables and never changed. But, it recently occurred to me how much damage I'm doing to the environment. My guess is, I've probably used somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 disposable razors in my life—and that's a LOT of plastic.So, I decided to try a safety razor and landed on this one as a reasonable option. Turns out, I got it right first time. It's a really nice little razor. Well made, rugged and functional. It does have some drawbacks. For example if the handle was square instead of circular it'd be easier to hold and manoeuvre and if it came with a cover of some kind it'd be better for travel, but those are minor issues. On the whole, this is an excellent razor that looks good, feels good and does what it's supposed to do.I can't believe that I waited so long to try a safety razor. I was an idiot—blindly polluting the environment and not even thinking about it.

İdeal tıraş aleti

Fazla söze gerek yok. İyi tıraş aleti vardır, kötü vardır. Şu tip sakala, bu tip cilde diye bir şey yok; bıçak değil bu. Bu iyi bir alet. Kısa sap olması da seyahatlerde avantaj sağlıyor. Uygun fiyata da aldık. Bolo var olsun.

Der Rasierer schlecht hin

Ich rasiere mich seit Jahren mit einem 5-Klingen-Rasierer der REAL Eigenmarke. Für mich gibt es nichts besseres und günstigeres.Dennoch hatte ich das Gefühl, das es noch stilvoller geht und es musste etwas Passenderes zu meiner englischen Rasiercreme her. Was liegt näher als eine E.J Hobel?Nach zwei Tagen hielt ich ihn in den Händen. Verpackt war er in einem schwarzen Pappkarton und es befand sich eine englische Beschreibung an einem Gummiband an seinem Griff.Mir fiel gleich auf, dass er recht massiv und schwer ist. Mein alter Wilkinson mit dem Kunststoffgriff ist dagegen ein Leichtgewicht.Natürlich wurde er gleich auseinander geschraubt und da war es schon passiert. Den Griff hatte ich noch in der Hand und die zwei Kopfteile lagen auf den Badfliesen. Man konzentriert sich leicht auf den massiven Griff und schon rutscht einem der Rest aus der Hand. Das Gewinde, welches das Kopfteil auf dem Griff hält ist nämlich recht lang.Die Klinge wird sehr gut fixiert, sie steht aber an den Seiten etwas über. Die Kanten sind dagegen geschützt.Zur Rasur an sich: Wenn man in den Foren liest "Nicht aufdrücken", so sollte man dies auch beherzigen und sich immer vor Augen halten. Das Gewicht des Rasierers reicht vollkommen aus um eine gute Rasur zu erhalten! Kurz den Anstellwinkel gesucht und den Rasierer in einer Richtung gleiten lassen! Drückt man auf, dann rasiert er auch "etwas tiefer" und das Bad sieht aus wie nach einem Rasierklingenmassaker.Beiliegend erhält man eine Packung Derby-Klingen. Hier scheiden sich die Meinungen der Benutzer. Ich konnte bei der ersten Rasur mit einer neuen Klinge kein unangehmes Ziehen in den Bartstoppeln feststellen, sie rasierte absolut sanft und problemlos.Alles in allem ist der E.J ein toller Rasierhobel der, mit seinem verchromten Griff, richtig gut aussieht. Mit dem geschlossenen Kamm ist er sehr sanft zur Haut und er rasiert schon im ersten Durchgang gründlich.Einen Punkt Abzug erhält er wegen das Handlings mit der Gefahr, dass der zweigeteilte Rasierkopf schnell aus der Hand rutscht.Ich würde mir diesen Rasierer noch einmal bestellen, er ist aber so robust konstruiert das er mich aber sicherlich überlebt.Eine klare Kaufempfehlung!
