Where do I start, if like me you are a complete novice but have perseverance id say set around 3 hours aside for the install, you need to get 2 screws and 2 wallplugs as they are not supplied, I bought the cistern to replace my old one which was leaking profusely, the instructions are vague to say the least, it was guesswork for the assembly, I would advise getting some ptf tape as I have a brass connection and the new one is plastic, the hub didn't think it was required until it leaked and we had to take the whole thing off again, the flush handle is flimsy but as I wasn't sure it came with one I purchased one for 10 quid on here and it was better quality, there's different flush settings you can try and decipher if you want a migraine, we managed to get it all set up and its been working well fingers crossed, if like I say you have limited plumbing knowledge and your partner is equally useless id advise paying someone handy to do it for you, tools required were1. Adjustable spanner/wrench thingy2. Possidrive head screwdriver3. DrillGodspeed remember to not stand above your partner with the wrench as the temptation may be to much to bear!

My only critisism is that it comes with the old style bulky internal fittings. I replaced these with far more reliable modern inlet valve, flapper output with self contained overflow requiring no additional external pipework.

Everything I needed was in the box. As others have said, the plastic screw which is supposed to hold the lid in place is woefully too short. It's about 4cm long whereas it needs to be at least 10cm to have any chance of being useful. The lid is a little awkward to fit tightly as the plastic tank flexes quite a lot but once it's on, it a good fit. Compared to my old cistern (made of ceramic) it's noisy when filling but I'm going to fit a pipe to the inlet which will put the water straight into the bottom of the tank where there's a little bit left after a flush. Altogether not a bad piece of kit, it took me about 3 hrs to fit from when I turned the water main off to completion.

Good value for the money, need to buy a longer bolt to secure lid.

item of thin plastic. would never hold water for any length of time. This cistern is just garbage. The seller should be ashamed .

Fitted in about 1 hour, just make sure you set the flush amount before you fit. Very awkward to do once fitted.
