The iCON 15 is suitable for domestic use in bathrooms (zones 1 & 2), toilets, and ensuites. It must be installed by a competent person in accordance with UK Building Regulations and IET standards. The fan requires a 230V 50Hz single-phase supply with a 3A fuse and 30mA RCD. Avoid installation near heat sources or where temperatures exceed 40°C.
- Wall installation: Drill a 110mm hole and line with a 100mm duct, angled downward at approx. 5° to prevent condensation backflow.
- Ceiling installation: Drill a 110mm hole and mount a plywood support (min. 18mm thick) between joists. Fit a condensation trap on vertical outlet ducts.
- Electrical setup: Use the supplied sealed grommet for cable entry and ensure free movement of the impeller. Avoid over-tightening duct connections.
Best Practices
To ensure optimal performance and longevity:
- Use rigid ducting where possible; if flexible ducting is used, maintain full diameter and extend to at least 90% of its length.
- Always isolate the fan from power before installation or maintenance.
- Clean the fan regularly with a damp cloth and soft brush. Do not immerse any part in water.
- Commissioning should follow Approved Document F1 using Method A with a UKAS-certified airflow meter.
