This was bought as a present for my husband who is a lover of fountain pens, and it was very well received. The presentation box is well-made and attractive, and seems like it could continue to house the pen safely if you only wanted to use it occasionally. I think my husband will be using it pretty constantly though! The pen itself is a lovely weight and the ink flows well to the nib - and did so as soon as the cartridge was fitted. It's made clear that a converter will need to be purchased separately if you prefer ink from a well. There's not much else to say really. Waterman is an established, high-quality maker of fountain pens and this is well-reflected in this particular product. I was happy to gift it, knowing that it would be a hit.

The Waterman Expert, being a little larger than the Waterman Hemisphere, is one of my all time favourite fountain pens. The special edition "L'Essence du Bleu", has a gorgeous dark navy blue laquer barrel and a brass cap, with an engraved wave pattern and Palladium plating. Like previous models, the Expert is very solid and comfortable. The Fine nib, wrote superbly, straight out of the box with no adjustments needed. The pen is 12.5cm long when uncapped. Alternatively, the cap can be posted if preferred and goes on deeply and secures with a click.The pen uses Waterman Cartridges (of which one blue one was included) and can also use a converter, although none came with the pen. This would need to be bought separately.It ships in an attractive gift box. My pen was delayed for about two weeks in being despatched but the pen itself is a joy.

This is a very nice pen at a reasonable price, it comes in a standard Waternan gift box which is similar to what you get with Parker pens regardless of how much you pay, the cheap ones the expensive ones they all come in the same box which is basically a card box with an outer sleeve the cartridge is under the pen.Comes with a blue cartridge which I would rather be black but blue seems to be the default standard free cartridge for some reason. The pen does not come with a convertor so you will have to buy that separate which is a bit of a pain especially if you are paying the RRP then you should reasonably expect to have the convertor with it.The pen is a nice design, is fairly light in the hand and writes well with a gold nib, a good point for this price of watch. The cap is a snap on type and I would say its a nice pen if reasonably priced. Further up the tree I would recommend the Visconti line which start with steel nibs but I have found very flexible and a delight to use. This one is very nice to use, doesn't come across as too top heavy and is good as a personal pen or a gift.

This is a beautifully designed pen. When I picked it up, the first thing I noticed was the weight. Some fountain pens are light and cheap; this is not. It is perfectly weighted. Critically, when I put in a cartridge, and started writing, the ink flowed immediately - no early hesitation, which is common in fountain pens. That impressed me. The pen has a ‘wet’ flow - constant and generous, no matter the writing speed. I have other other fountain pens, including a Mont Blanc, that are best for a slow write, and be a little scratchy, but this pen kept its flow whatever my writing speed. If you’re looking for a solid and stylish fountain pen that will do justice to your writing, give this a go.

I’ve bought many pens from a variety of pen brands in the past and their pens can be very hit and miss. Although when buying this, I had no doubts of not being exceptional quality as I have never been disappointed by the build quality of Waterman pens. This pen is just beautiful. It would make for an amazing present as it comes in a really nice presentation box or perhaps just a nice gift to yourself. This pen would be suitable for both men and women. It does feel thicker in the hand compared to most ballpoint pens but I would say it’s suitable for most hand sizes; large or small. It also has some nice weight to it, which I think adds to the luxury of this pen. The gold trim on this pen really makes it look like it’s worth a lot more than what it is. For the price, you are getting a really good pen, from a renowned brand, that can definitely compete with pens from the likes of Montblanc at a third of the price. This pen will certainly turn some eyes and get attention. It is also just a pleasure to write with. It does come with blue ink so if you prefer black you will need to buy one in addition to the pen.

I had had about six of these pens over the years (different colours and a couple when I've dropped them on their nibs) and I love them! I've read the comments about poor ink flow but this is not an issue I have had - ever. Each and every time the ink is there immediately, and I often hold it in my hand for some time with the top off and no issues at all. I agree it is quite heavy but this suits me well, and I love the balance. Personally I do not put the top on the end but leave it on the table while I write.I use it for work everyday and it serves me well. It's even been through the washing machine - by accident obviously - and despite a small chip to the enamel continued without a problem, sadly not the white wash it was in!I find this a great everyday pen, not so expensive that you're afraid to use it - stick it in your pocket and off you go. I do like a nice fountain pen, and this is the one I always return to. If I had one tiny criticism it is that they have left off the tiny brass that sat on the top of the lid on this newer version but other than that I love it!

Great pen, writes like a dream. I feel like I've been missing out my entire life and I've just been introduced to the perfect pen. You can't compare how this looks, functions or even feels to a cheap pen it's amazing!

A Stunning New Waterman Take on a Classic Design

Like most Waterman's, this is a stunning pen. I've had a number of Waterman's over the past 20 years, starting with the first one I bought in Paris at the Gibert Jeune store near the Notre Dame, and have been using them ever since. This particular model, though retaining essentially the exact same physical shape and style of the "Expert" series that have been sold for all these years, is different because it is made of brushed stainless steel with gold accents. Gold accents are no stranger to Waterman's, of course, but it is the brushed stainless steel--which varies between a highly elegant and a slightly used look, depending on what angle you see it at--is just delightful. It's classical in every sense of the word. Most Waterman's use a highly polished body, but this model forgoes that approach to use the brushed steel look, which really crosses the line between dressy and casual. Don't get me wrong: this is an elegant looking pen, one that you can take to any setting, but that brushing gives the pen an almost "worn" look that just makes it stand out. The photos here of the pen are accurate, but you can't easily get the full impact of the pen's looks until you see it in person. I highly recommend it.Note:As many "pen people" know, refills for these pens, including Waterman, Mont Blanc, etc., can be hideously expensive. What's not so openly said, though, is that the Japanese Pentel G2 pen refills are often more pleasant to use than the German-made ones, and, get this, they only cost about two dollars each.It's the first thing I did when I got my Waterman (which I still purchase because it remains made in France) is to remove the cartridge and replace it with the G2 refill, and it's a great writing experience. Esta pluma fuente es para una escritura fina, solo que antes hay que acostumbrar a la mano con la inclinación correcta, para que la tinta pinte de manera homogenea, ya antes tuve una igual y es el mismo efecto, al principio cuesta un poco de trabajo "domarla", pero una vez que lo haces, la escritura es suave, firme y homogenea, excelente producto!!!

Bu kalemle beraber hayatımda ilk kez dolma kalem kullanmayı deneyimleme şansım oldu. O yüzden yorumumu okusanız bile tek başına benim yorumuma bakarak karar vermeyin.Önceden araştırmıştım ve tükenmez kalemler gibi çok basınç uygulamamak gerektiğini biliyordum. Gerçekten de kalemin yazması için kağıda değmesi yetiyormuş.Ürünün kendisine gelirsek, bir hediye kutusunun içinde geliyor ve kutunun içinden bir adet kartuş çıkıyor. Ancak converter yok, onu kendiniz almak zorundasınız ve bu bir dezavantaj. Halbuki mesela Parker Sonnet, converter ile geliyor. Kalemin dış görünüşü oldukça güzel, kaliteli ürün izlenimi uyandırıyor. Buradaki resimlerde göründüğü kadar kalın değil. Kalemin kapağının yazarken kapatılması sırasında klik sesi çıkarması güzel, tam oturuyor ve yerinden çıkmıyor. Bu önemli bir avantaj. Diğer bazı dolma kalemlerde kapağın yerinden çıkabildiğini duymuştum. Onun haricinde yazımı güzel. İçinden çıkan kartuştaki mürekkebin rengi çok güzel, Serenity Blue renginde sanırım. Onun dışında çok skipping yapması bir dezavantaj, ancak bunun temizlik ile alakalı olma ihtimali var. O yüzden ilk temizlik yaptığımda düzelip düzelmediğine bakarak bu yorumu güncelleyeceğim.Güncelleme: Temizledikten sonra skipping problemi büyük oranda çözüldü. Size tavsiyem, kalemi ilk kullanımınızdan önce temizlemeniz. Nasıl yapacağınızı gösteren bir sürü YouTube kanalı ve videosu var.Sakın tükenmez kalemlerde olduğu gibi bastırmayın, bunu yaparsanız dolma kalemin ucuna zarar verebilirsiniz. Ayrıca düşük kaliteli, g/m2 (gsm) değeri düşük olan kağıtlarda yazdığınız zaman bleeding ve feathering gibi sorunlarla karşılaşabilirsiniz. 80 gsm ve daha yüksek gsm değeri olan kağıtlar kullanın. Size tavsiyem Rhodia’nın defterlerinden birini alın.Onun dışında, dolma kalemlere ilk kez başlayacak arkadaşlar için bu kalem biraz pahalı gelebilir. Önce daha ucuz, entry-level denebilecek kalemlerle başlayın: Lamy Safari, Kaweco Sport, Pilot Metropolitan, Parker Jotter gibi. Çünkü eğer dolma kalemler konusunda tecrübeniz yoksa ve ilk kullandığınız dolma kalem zarar görürse kayda değer bir parayı boşa vermiş olursunuz. Eğer bu az önce önerdiğim modelleri deneyip dolma kalemleri beğenirseniz bu model (Waterman Expert), Waterman Hemisphere, Parker Sonnet gibi daha ileri kademe modelleri düşünebilirsiniz.
