5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent hoop, easy to learn
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Love it! I’m trying to get fit after being an extremely fit gym bunny then being ill for a year. I don’t have the confidence yet to hit the gym & I’m right at ground zero, fitness wise, so I thought I’d try this. I got it instead of Easter eggs - let’s face it, diet has just as much to do with how we look & feel as exercise does, and it’s all too easy to go into a sulk & say “oh sod it, what does it matter?” But it’s the little things you do every day that make all the difference.I hula when I feel like it, I took one section off as I felt it was too large, initially I found the torso pummelling disconcerting but that very quickly disappeared as my technique improved, although I don’t often use it round my bust. I did have one large bruise from it which I didn’t feel till it was there. It’s like cycling, once you’ve got the knack, you’ve got it. It’s not about big or fast motions & the chihuahua quickly learnt to keep out of my way!Use it or lose that waist, refine those hips, get fast breathing, break into a sweat, make it a cardio session...I put music or the tv on & hula for as long as I can or feel like, I’ve got quite drawn into how long I can do it for & what motion works best, which part of my body does what how etc. I’d start slowly though & for 5 minutes or so at a time. Once you build up, it helps a little with stamina. It beats just sitting on the sofa all day, watching tv.I’ve also found that you don’t need as much room to hula as you think - it helps if you stand within a foot of the sofa or footstool, as then you can hula in bare feet and the sofa will catch the hoop - it can hurt if it lands on edge on a bare foot. It’s a well made hoop, it’s easy to add or remove sections so u can box it away when not using it. I don’t, I keep it out & visible so I can use it whenever. Try it, it’s certainly built up my body confidence - recommend for men also, get that pelvis moving and I reckon the design of the hoop will give a good massage effect to help get the flabby abby-domen back into line. It just might make you wake up & pay attention to your body and look after yourself better. I’m 52, it’s never too late to improve your fitness and shape.Update - 2mths in: still using the hoop, it’s still in great condition & I’ve moved on, fitness wise, to using a fitness app that not only gives me a daily workout to suit me but gives meal plans etc - takes a lot of the thinking & planning out of it so no stress & saves time; excellent for home use (Jillian Michaels if anyone’s interested); also recommend giving up sugar (see books”Oh Sugar!” & “The Sweet Poison Quit Plan”), animal fat (& learning to love good fats such as avocado as well as take Omega 3 supplements, I recommend Iron Ore Healths Omega 3 Triple Strength fish oil). Also - drink lots of water (tap is fine, get a reusable water bottle & have it with you most of the time), moisturise all over (doesn’t have to be expensive - I like E45 Intense Recovery, as cheap as can be), & replace carbs with LOTS of green leafy veg (lightly cooked kale, raw spinach - again, not expensive, you could even grow your own). There’s no excuse for being overweight & flabby, that’s the result of all the choices you’ve made: regain control of that bod, one step at a time & keep going, good choice by good choice & accept there’ll be relapses but believe they’ll get smaller until they’re no longer an issue
5.0 out of 5 stars From level 1 to level 2 in nine weeks
Until ten weeks ago I had never hula hooped in before, so picking a first hoop was a bit of a shot in the dark. My primary aim was to try and strengthen and get some flexibility back into my back, so started off with this level one foam padded hoop (without the waves). The product arrived quickly, was well packaged, and looked substantially constructed. Once assembled it is quite large and that was the first problem - where to use it, as you need plenty of space to avoid collisions and potential damage. 1.2kg flying around will break things... so move your pets, children, Ming vases, LCD TV's out of harm's way before you start !If in doubt, try using the bedroom as this effectively halves the space required as standing with one's back to the bed half of the hoop can rotate safely above the space taken up by the bed. This also makes it easier to reclaim the hoop if you drop it. In my case the space was still a bit limited so I started off using only seven sections which makes the hoop slightly smaller and slightly lighter. The downside is that it appears to take a bit more effort to keep the hoop spinning, which is not ideal if this is your first time, however it potentially limits the damage.Getting the hang of it wasn't easy and I can see many people getting frustrated and giving up at this point. For me, the first week was a complete disaster and I couldn't keep the hoop up for more than a couple of revolutions at a time. This also resulted in some minor bruising to the hips and knees which others have mentioned, although not enough to put me off from continuing. After doing some on-line research, I found Deanne Love's YouTube video titled "How to Hula Hoop for Total Beginners" which pretty much demonstrated visually where I was going wrong. It turns out that one's stance and motion has a larger impact on the behaviour of the hoop than I had imagined. The next week after adjusting stance and motion I was able to keep the hoop rotating for more and more revolutions, and after two weeks I had enough control over the hoop to insert the eighth section to make it up to its full size and weight. This also made it easier to spin and I found that I was soon managing up to 100 spins between drops. Any sign of bruising quickly disappeared and sessions of 1,000 revolutions at a time (500 clockwise/500 counter-clockwise) were possible and without any discomfort. With all eight sections the hoop loses some of its rigidity however. It still locks together fine and stays locked together in use, just that it could perhaps do with some shims between the joints to make it slightly more rigid in my opinion. After another six weeks of daily use I decided I was now ready to move up to the level two version of the hoop. (Although only 300g more in weight (1.5kg), it is a noticeable difference and although hasn't caused any bruising as yet it causes slight discomfort after around 600 revolutions, so have been limiting sessions to 500 at a time and allowing a few hours for recovery in-between. The level two hoop is also much more rigid at the joints and feels more stable in use.) So the level one hoop is now back in its box for the time being whilst I concentrate on the level two hoop. With it being in eight sections however it doesn't take up much space for storage when not in use.Using the level one hoop every day for the nine weeks however has reduced back pain considerably, so well worth the price for that reason alone. It has also helped increased flexibility and trimmed the waistline in the process.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great exercise for busy people
I've had one of these for nearly two weeks and so far I am very, very happy with it. I haven't hula hooped for probably 40 odd years (!) so it took a little while to get the hang of it, but I could feel the benefits straight away. I'm easily fitting in 2 or 3 sessions a day, my waist is definitely tighter and I am losing weight and building stamina daily. It is great low impact exercise and because it can be done whenever I have a spare few minutes it's sustainable, whereas finding an hour or so to go to the gym three times a week just isn't (for me)The hoop is very well made and sturdy. The pieces clicked firmly together and the padding is robust and is staying in place. I've withheld one star only because I've not owned it long enough to comment on its long term durability, but to be fair I have already received good value for money and would definitely recommend it!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great little workout
The ResultSports UK weighted hula hoop is great for a little workout at home.Arrived in 8 pieces, very easy to assemble and disassemble for space saving.I got the lightest weight as a beginner. It took a bit of a practice to get used to it, especially if you haven’t used a hula hoop for a long time like me.As in the how to guide that comes with it , was mentioned that it can cause bruising in the first few use, just need to get used to it. After a few days of using, no more bruising and it’s fun to use anywhere, even while watching TV.The outer material is soft but a durable one plus it comes with a 2 year warranty too.Really like the grey and pink look. Will definitely get the heavier version too.
A hoop for a great, fun ab workout.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I initially thought that this was a hula hoop without bumps, so I ordered it. It arrived in a timely manner. When it arrived, I was happy with the weight that it had, but it I was a little sad initially that it had the bumps. I had read that it bothered some people, so I was skeptical. After trying it out, I was very happy with the hoop. I like the weight and the padding is very comfy. The bumps make your muscles tense up more, which I find beneficial for a better workout. It never hurt and I never got any bruises from the bumps, like other people have reported on other hoops. You can easily take out a section to make the hoop a little smaller. The way the hoop connects is clever and sturdy and does not interfere with your exercise. Just make sure all sections are clicked together and get those abs working.

Höll bara i 10 minuter…
Värdelös, efter 10 minuter började den falla isär och låsen mellan delarna slutade fungera så den gick inte att använda längre
Nice product, may be small for my height
I am 6 foot 5 in and almost 300 pounds. I was not able to manage to get the thing to stay up so far at least. I feel like I need a bigger diameter, but it’s a very nice product, I’m just not sure a beginner can jump into it and get it to spin very long. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, it may be too small for me
