After seeing a TV show about Fiskars, I was intrigued, since the craftsmanship at the factory seemed very good. And it wasn't just for show: I bought these scissors to cut carbon fiber cloth, to avoid fraying at the edges, and it delivers. I'm almost reluctant to use it for anything else, because even though they are not expensive, they are, by far, the most reliable, useful and sharpest scissors I have ever used. After 3 months of use, it still retains its edge, but after a while, it might be necessary to buy a sharpener, such as Fiskars' own. Then again, scissors are like knives: they need sharpening over time; most people aren't used to this because crappy scissors can just be replaced.The handle is ergonomic, but keep in mind, these are RIGHT HANDED scissors. Might not mean much for a lot people, but lefties can easily find the LEFT HANDED version from Fiskars!

Compared to the plethora of scissors Fiskars are on a different planet. They’ll cut just about anything ‘cause they’re so sharp. Even tho’ they’re left handed they’re good for right hand use too. They’re comfortable to use in either hand. I have now thrown away all my cheapie ikea et al scissors and bought 3 pairs of Fiskars. I wished I’d invested in Fiskars years ago, they would’ve saved years of frustration. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend Fiskars scissors.

Good and sharp scissors, but my wife finds the insides of the handles to be a bit rough, so she doesn't like them - I don't feel this roughness and to me they are fine.

This is a top quality pair of scissors, no doubt. They feel good in the hand, the blades are powerful and precise, and the snip is very satisfying.The measurement from handle to tip is 21cm. When the blades are open as wide as they go, the available cutting edge is 9.5cm. I've used them on paper and card and the cuts have been flawless.The packaging advertises a 25 year guarantee, which the Fiskars website says covers "defects in materials and workmanship".I've taken a star off for the quality of the plastic handles. They're absolutely fine, but not quite as premium as the rest of the product. There are minor imperfections in the moulding and the seam is quite rough. I'm sure the seam will smooth off over the months, but at the moment it slightly detracts from the overall comfort.I'm being very picky because these are four times more expensive than a basic equivalent. My expectations were very high based on other reviews. I thought there would be nothing to improve, but these fall just a little short.Still, no regrets. I don't expect I'll ever need to buy another pair of scissors.

Bought to replace 10 year old identical pair now relegated to garden duties. Forget the rest, these laaaast! Dishwasher friendly bullet proof substantial scissors of just the right size, that can cut anything in the kitchen and elsewhere. Highly recommend.

During the lockdown, I have taken up sewing, mainly to make face covering. But the scissors I was using just weren't cutting it. So I started researching and discovered that Fiskars is said to be one of the top brands for scissors. But given that I was just starting out sewing, I couldn't justify spending over £20. Thankfully these were much cheaper (about £10 if I remember correctly) and they cut like silk, they are a million times better than the blunt hair scissors I was using before. It's made cutting fabric (mostly cotton, but also two layers of wool when I was altering a coat) much easier and more accurate.

Are you a righty with a hand or wrist injury?

These are great quality scissors, as usual from Fiskars. I'm not a lefty, but I severely injured my right hand and wrist and can't use right-handed scissors at the moment. My left hand is not dextrous in the slightest so I can't cut anything precise with these, but that's my problem, not Fiskars', and I do use them a lot for quick jobs.On the off chance that anyone with a right hand or wrist injury needs this info: Fiskars spring action scissors are the best for me, because I can squeeze them with my right hand without pain and cut precisely when I need to. But for lefties, I have no doubt these left-handed scissors are fabulous.

Worth the Wait

These took nearly a month to arrive from Finland, but worth the wait. I took a chance, hoping these scissors would be superior to the standard Fiskars scissors I've bought at the office supply store. (I've bought MANY pairs of cheaper Fiskars and been very happy with them.) These are better made, and heavier, with well-honed edges. I'm thinking they may be perfect for my sewing projects, even though I bought them as office scissors. It's a joy to use a really excellent product and these scissors make the grade. They also arrived properly packaged with no damage to the outer box or the scissors.
