I will be honest i was a use any old shower gel on my hair type of guy.Then after a bad case of dandruff and having to use a medicated shampoo to get things in order i started looking for something more natural on the scalp.I found this after a google search and have used it for past 3 years with great results.I love that its has none of the weird unpronoinceable ingredients that most products.I did think that would be a inferior product but its far from the truth a little goes a long way it has a nice smell thats almost relaxing when applied.And best of all it does a great job and leave the hair feel soft and clean better than other shampoos i have used previously.The cost is a factor but for the risk of irritating my scalp again and going back to sqaure one i would happily pay the extra cost to avoid prescriptions which cost more than this alone.

- This shampoo leaves my scalp clean but not dry. You may still want to use a conditioner but think it's a really balanced shampoo. It cleans, but doesn't 'strip' the hair clean. It's moisturising but doesn't leave product on the hair like I found with Dr Organics Aloe Vera shampoo.- It has a neutral smell.- Before buying I thought it fairly expensive for my budget, but the quality is worth it and it is concentrated so should last longer. I've found to make the most of it I dilute/mix some with water in a separate bottle first before applying. Adding more if needed. I tend to use more product purely in an attempt to get more foam! If you dilute it first more bubbles come with less product = you use less product for the same result and last longer.- I've found it perfect for normal hair and dreadlocks.

I use this shampoo alongside other normal shampoos. I find it really cleans my scalp and helps to keep my hair from becoming greasy. I have slightly mad curly, very fine hair and have really struggled to find shampoo that doesn't leave the ends of my hair parched and the roots greasy. The only issue is for me is that the conditioners aren't very good so it dimishes the shampoo slightly because without conditioner this shampoo does leave my hair VERY tangled. I use this shampoo and alternate it with normal cheaper shampoos and conditioners and that seems to work.

I was surprised at the lather of this shampoo. It leaves my hair clean and fresh and without any build up. I really like it. No adverse effects.

The subject heading really summarizes it - I would urge prospective buyers to request a sample from the company/manufacturer...and then have a good long sniff. It is true, taste does vary but the scent of THIS product is DEFINITELY a niche preference or aquired taste.Be aware that it smells VERY medicinal. Not "clean and fresh", not merely very masculine...but medicinal in the sense that you will smell as if you used something to treat some kind of horrible scalp disease like ringworm. NOT the effect the average person is after when washing their hair. The closest meaningful scent description would be "my granny's mothballs".However....despite the deeply offputting scent in the bottle, it is actually a good mild shampoo. The mothball scent, mercifully, doesn't linger too long. On my hair ( very fine but lots of it + greasy scalp with dry midlength & ends) it lathered well and cleaned well without overstripping. My hair was shiny, didn't look or feel weighed down and my scalp was very happy, too. Incidentally, I used the matching conditioner with it.Summary: if scent isn't an issue - or you love the smell of dry lavender mixed with something medicinal ( which to me equals mothballs) - try it. But, ideally, buy a sample size

I bought this on the recommendation of a friend as I have been bothered with an itchy, flaky scalp for years which no amount of anti-dandruff, sensitive scalp, medicated, prescription or baby shampoos have helped! I did worry about spending so much on a shampoo but in comparison with some more well-known brands, for the amount you use (a little really does go a long, long way), it would be comparable or cheaper in price. On the first use I thought that the shampoo felt very different from any other shampoo I've ever used, in that it made my hair feel odd when I was lathering it, but after rinsing it off and drying my hair...WOW!.. what a difference! My hair was shiny and soft and my scalp wasn't anywhere near as itchy as it had been. After a week of use I have hardly any dandruff and my hair looks fantastic, even to the extent that people have been commenting on how healthy and shiny my hair looks! Being nasty-chemical-free and 92% organic makes it even more attractive to me. I absolutely love this product and use it with the conditioner and shower gel every day! My only regret is that I didn't know about it years ago!

This shampoo works very well. Unlike other shampoos that leave my scalp feeling dry and tight, this leaves my scalp feeling clean and ph balanced. Overall, my hair feels soft and shiny after using this. Less is more. I use a smaller amount recommended by Green People, and it seems to be more effective. Maybe because using less means not clogging the pores in the scalp.I am super picky about shampoo and hair products, and I always look carefully at all the ingredients before buying. After reading the ingredients in this shampoo and reading the other reviews, I felt compelled to buy this. Luckily, it was a smart buy. I will be a repeat customer. Thank you, Green People, for making me and Kate Moss look fabulous everyday!

Pay no attention to the insane estimated shipping time--I got mine in less than 2 weeks, not the month time frame they gave me. I really wish this product was more widely available in the US because it's been phenomenal in the 3 weeks I've been using it. I'm pregnant and needed a bare bones shampoo without all of the preservatives, sulfates, paragons, etc and this fit the bill perfectly. It lathers up well and definitely cleans my hair. I didn't buy the conditioner because it has Cetrimonium chloride which I wanted to avoid right now, but will probably buy after the pregnancy. It can be drying so you definitely need a conditioner or oil of some sort, but with this shampoo and a conditioner I only need to wash my curly hair every 3 days which is awesome! I imagine I'll stick with this brand for a long time.What I did not like about this purchase experience and why I gave this 4 stars was the several emails I received from Hawthorn Health asking me to review their product. I'm not going to review a product right after receiving because I want to see how it holds up, which will make for a better review. I hope that this does not mean I'm also signed up for promotional emails from them.
