Many filmmakers have been influenced by this movie and many have failed miserably. This is from the days when there would be many great films that were made and they are still as good today to watch as they were when originally released. I also like Mutant 2 ...aka The Falling ...aka Alien Predator. Out of the two the Mutant this review is about is the better film. Some have complained Mutant is cheesy, well whatever ...it is in the classic hall of horror fame and it will stay there. Don’t let the opportunity to see this pass you by. Nearly forgot to mention the gorgeous sweetie pie herself Jody Medford. Jody was not acting for long and that is such a shame as her screen presence and beauty are sadly missed. A great film from the mid eighties that has so much more about it than the tripe of today.

This is a surprisingly effective and suspenseful Horror flick that I went into not expecting very much.Wings Hauser is always value for money and the story has the feel of Two other flicks that came out within the same Decade Dawn Of The Dead and Dead and Buried (The Latter in particular).The effects are not bad either and though the story has it's plot holes it's still a great Horror that's fun and well acted.

Not as good as Nightmare at Noon which is by the same director with some of the same actors Wings and Bo.

Not the most sophisticated horror film to come out of the 80's, but a lot of fun along the way. Some genuinely creepy moments, and like a well known burger, meaty in parts, served with a big slice of cheese! I still have my VHS copy, but had miss laid the dvd, so this is a welcome replacement. Keep the lights on!

I first saw this movie over 10 years ago, and I remember really enjoying it, so when I got ot on DVD my expectations were high. And although its set in teh 80's and looks a bit dated, this is still a good film.Its the age old plot of corrupt factory dumping chemical waste in to the local water supply which results in people turning into Mutants, blood thirsty mutants.Two brothers get ran off the road near a small town, they aren't made too welcome in the local bar, and when they try to convince the local sheriff that they find a dead body they are told to get out of towm, first dawn.But one brother goes missing and of course the older brother has to stay and find his little bro, and finds out a few things along the way.Good movie, good effects, good characters.

Used to rent this movie over and over as a kid (well parents rented it for me) as I loved it so much and now to own it on Blu Ray takes me back. It has its flaws, bit for an 80s low budget movie, its great, very underrated in my opinion.

Ich fand ihn toll. Im laufe der Jahre, vergaß ich den Titel. Jetzt endlich, fand ich den Film bei Bolo und als ich den Titel sah, wuste ich, dass ist der Film. Heute 24.03.2025, habe den Film bekommen. Und habe den Film gleich angeschaut. Genauso spannent wie damals.... Sehr gute Bild- und Tonqualität. Viele Informationen und die alte deutsche Fassung. Ich denke, dass die Bildqualität unteranderen so gut ist, weil man auf die TV Fassung zurückgreifen konnte. Klare Kaufempfehlung.
A definite for zombie fans.
This is for the widescreen DVD release of Mutant. It only comes with a trailer, but the video is a good transfer.This films music score by Richard Band is one of the best music scores ever done for a low budget horror film. I was lucky enough to also get the expanded cd soundtrack.Synapses: 2 brothers from the northern United States are on a road trip in the south when their car is put off the road. They make their way to the nearest town arriving that night seeking lodging. But this sleepy town is in the grips of a mysterious flu that is transforming its inhabitants into bloodthirsty zombie-like creatures.

Dommage, j'aurai pensé que ce film aurait été vraiment top vu le coffret et les avis mais les dialogues et le montage semble plus correspondre à un film Z (bas de gamme), déçu de mon achat.
