Like wow! Opening the lid on this for the first time, and smelling that sandalwood-scented cream took me back to my boyhood days. It reminded me of being taken by my Dad to a local, old-fashioned barber (the type who would discretely whisper in your ear afterwards "would sir also like a little something for the weekend"). The overhead bell would 'ping' as we opened the door, and our nostrils would be assailed with a fragrance that was just so similar to this shaving cream from Taylor's of Old Bond Street. For all I know, our barber could have been using this very same product, together with his badger hair brush, and cut-throat razor because Taylor's have been around since 1854.I have to mention that this is great to use. You only need a small amount on your brush to work up a nice thick lather, I do this straight on my face, but you could use a separate bowl if you so desire. Until now, I hadn't realised what a major difference a good quality shaving cream can make. This cream gives me a lovely smooth shave, does not irritate my skin, and leaves a subtle, lingering scent that has received rare compliments from my wife. In my opinion, if you are thinking of changing the shaving cream you presently use then this one from Taylor's should be your first choice. I've already expounded on its many qualities, but it's worth adding that this is sensibly priced, comes in an attractive screw-lid tub (top tip: when empty, this curved-bottom container could be used as a respectable shaving bowl), oh, and it should last you a fair few months. I have no hesitation in recommending this product to other discerning Bolo customers.

Over the years I've lazily drifted towards aerosol and or gel based shaving creams but I just couldn't find one that suited my beard. They also have a tendency to clog up and solidify in the space between the blades, (even after rinsing after each shave) making for more blade changes than necessary.A few months ago, I dug out my old shaving brush and bought a dish of shaving soap from my local chemist and again was disappointed, as it took a lot of work to build up a lather (slightly hard water here).Persevering, I found this shaving cream here on Bolo, and as I find the smell of lavender really relaxing, I hit the one click button, and it arrived within 72 hours of ordering, which was excellent service.I see that a fellow reviewer didn't like the packaging, which is a very thick cream plastic, with lavender lettering. I find it functional, not at all cheap looking, and for me it looks nice on the bathroom window.Opening the screw top, you'll find that, unlike many other creams, it has a clear plastic slip over inner cap that is designed to keep the cream moist, and it works perfectly.The lavender coloured cream itself is generously filled into the bowl and is the best shaving cream I have ever bought for building a lather. I honestly need only to touch my shaving brush gently onto the surface of the bowl to get a really luxurious lather. The lavender scent is classy, understated, and relaxing. I use such a small amount of cream at each shave that it looks like this bowl will last me months and months.Having tried this brandI doubt now that I will ever buy another brand of shaving cream, or go back to aerosols and soaps. I may try Taylors Sandalwood, as that is another fragrance I like a lot, but the luxury afforded by this brand is all I'm ever going to need, plus, being a light cream, it rinses out of my razor perfectly with minimum effort.If you are looking for a classy shaving cream with a very understated and relaxing fragrance, please buy this with confidence, it really is that good.It would make the perfect present.I hope this helped you with your buying decision.

smells amazing, lathers really well, and lasts forever. i just wish it would come in cardboard packaging because the plastic tub is quite bulky and it’s not a liquid anyways

I try all different types of wet shave soap and particularly like sandalwood. I have to say that this is a premium product but worth every penny. The texture is soft and makes a perfect shaving cream once worked with a shaving brush and the smell is amazing. I will be buying some more in the future and would highly recommend this product for a proper shaving fan

What can I say? It's a cream that you slap on your grizzly chin (or bristly head) in preparation for tenderly rattling the Sabre to delicately slice through those 'fence wire' high tensile steel whiskers, intentionally softening them up ready for the gleaming blade to do its work.In my opinion this is great stuff indeed, reasonably priced too. I've used more expensive cream and not found it any better, no better for fragrance, no better for softening the old grey hairs. They say “You only get what you pay for”, and often that's true in respect to product presentation, but in respect to doing the job you're wanting it to do, this cream is equal to the most expensive. I love the stuff. One 'small' blob on your finger, into the shaving bowl, in goes the water heated brush and it produces enough lather for both head, twice over, and chin. Highly recommended!

Die beste Rasiercreme, die ich bisher ausprobiert habe. Sehr ergiebig, ein toller Schaum mit einem angenehmen Duft und das Rasiermesser gleitet nur so sanft durch die Haut. Die beste Rasur "ever". Gründlich, schonend, gut. Einfach nur TOP.
Product is excellent
Unfortunately it was shipped in an envelope with no interior protection, the container was broken in pieces. Seller was quick to refund as they didn't have any in stock to replace it. I was able to salvage half of the shaving cream, it's excellent, very smooth and the Peppermint not overpowering. Worth the price !
