About this item:
LUBEGARD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) PROTECTANT is for use in all automatic transmissions and manuals requiring an ATF, including heavy duty transmissions, such as Allison. Use with all synthetic or mineral based DEXRON, MERCON & OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) ATF’s (except Ford Type F ATF & CVT applications). Lubegard controls heat and is especially effective in today’s hotter running front wheel drive vehicles. It contains LXE (Liquid Wax Ester) Technology and their derivatives, base oils and conventional additives. Lubegard is designed to raise the thermal and oxidative stability level of automatic transmission fluids, so when it operates at elevated temperatures, it does not thin out and pyrolize, burn or react with oxygen and form deposits. The use of LUBEGARD ATF Protectant will not cause clutch friction upset or slippage. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: For normal applications, add 1 oz. (29. 6 mL) per quart (Liter) of ATF to the total transmission capacity (including torque converter) with motor idling in park. Do not overfill.

I used one of these with 2 tubes of instant shudder fix on a car with 224000 miles on its original gearbox so did not expect much. I am very pleased that this has cured the problem totally and so far after some 600 miles there is no sign of the shudder/slippage returning. Delivery was also very prompt. For anyone interested I tried one tube of instant shudder fix some months ago but it did not help the problem.

Dont know whats in this stuff but it worked on my old 92 Audi. there was always that little shudder when changing into top gear but no more.All changes are 100% smoother and am well impressed.For the price you pay theres no contest.

After having done lots of checks, I had high hopes for this and initially I was rewarded with success. But the results were short-lived and the issues returned within three weeks. It was great to drive for a period with little or sometimes no juddering, but for the price, I expected the results to be longer than three weeks.

2008 Acura MDX with 200k km - Works Exceptionally Well
I have a 2008 Acura MDX that has had its transmission oil changed regularly throughout it's life. However I noticed that it would slightly bang into reverse (even after a throttle body cleaning/reset), and shifting from first to second was good but not crisp like other shifts.Not only does this make my reverse shift smooth as silk but all of my shifts are crisp and satisfying. From a dead cold start it shifts like butter into reverse, and the first to second shift is not noticable. It has also stopped the rear main seal leak.As a product to use to help "condition" an older transmission to restore it's original capacity, this is amazing. However, I don't think this will help if serious transmission symptoms are occuring, such as slippage, very rough shifts, erratic behaviour or shaking.
