This story captives you right from the beginning. You can almost taste the salt in the sea air as Elisabeth McNeil describes the small fishing village in the first few pages. Brilliant story. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Excellent story!

The best novels have excellent characters at the heart, and The Storm is no exception. These characters are deep, real and keep you turning the pages after you know you should've turned out the light and gone to sleep. The plotline is heartbreaking, but, of course, you knew that from the description. I wasn't aware of this event in history, but -- as the book goes along -- you really see why the town would require generations to overcome such a thing.I'm looking forward to starting the next book tonight.
