About the Author

Christine Iverson discovered a love of all things hedgerow after moving to a Sussex Downland village in 2001. This fascination led to volunteering as an apothecary at the Weald and Downland Living Museum where she taught school children about medieval and Tudor medicine. Keen to learn more, she became a regular contributor to her local parish magazine sharing the folklore and superstitions of hedgerow plants with her local community. She runs regular folklore and foraging workshops at Tuppenny Barn Organics and gives talks to local women’s institutes and horticultural societies.

Has a bunch of great ideas that I'm going to try and a variety of other books that I'm looking forward to buying. Easy to ready with photos and well organised

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful book with great recipes

This book is beautiful. The person who wrote it was very knowledgeable and has some amazing recipes in there that have been tried and tested by them, and now by me. The pages are a joy to turn and are very soft on the eye. The herb profiles are very informative and the recipes are easy and something you would use day to day. I love this book as well as the other one that I bought from the same author “the hedgerow apothecary”

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, fun and accessible - a makers delight

We absolutely love owning this series of beautiful books. They are full of activities that I can do with my daughter (10). We have really enjoyed foraging the garden for rose petals and herbs and I’m happy to buy a few additional elements to make some of the more complicated recipes. We have made dog biscuits, basil & lemon surface spray, after sun lotion (which is amazing!), mouthwash and even have our first ever batch of home made jam steeping in the kitchen. We are both having great fun learning and it fills us both with joy to create these wonderful potions and products from our garden and the countryside. Totally recommend these books as easy and accessible experiments into exploring the world of home made, garden apothecary.

Love this book as much as its predecessor! Lots of information on plants and their uses, easy accessible recipes and clear written language. Everything is beautifully presented and the recipes I've tried so far have been fairly easy to make and have had wonderful effects!

I have purchased this lovely looking book as a present. I also looked at the reviews and was pleased to read the great reviews. Upon receiving the book I flicked through it and am extremely happy with the purchase. Beautiful illustrations and very detailed and interesting information on many herbs etc. I am glad I chose this as a gift. May even buy one for myself as well.
