5.0 out of 5 stars Simply superb.
Absolutely superb. Collins captures the immediacy of the dancefloor, the nuance of the soundscapes and the vibe of the scenes, zooming out contectualise these through historical, cultural and geopolitical lenses as much even as he writes about personal interior experience. Scholarly and witty, poetic and moving, this is a great read for anyone who loves music. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.
5.0 out of 5 stars Superb
It can be easy to think of dance music as being too hedonistic to be important, but this fantastic book reminds you just how important and life changing it can be. This is the best book about dancing I have ever read.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good but dated stories
Good read but alot more 90s stories than expected from the summary. Expected stuff from the last 5-10 years really...
Parfait

Sonst hast Du nicht geraved...!!!
Eines der Bücher, die man als Raver gelesen gaben sollte. Gleichzeitig ein gutes Sprachtraining, weil in englischer Sprache...
Three Stars
Yup
Highly recommended for all you old ravers
A well researched and wonderfully written account on the past and present scene in electronic dance music. The breadth and professionalism of the writing is quite rare for this corner of the music scene. It also brings some great accounts from rarely spoken of corners of the world, such as South Africa and Georgia which many may find refreshing. All of you old ravers, doofers and party fiends (and those still involved) who still have an interest in the scene, and the time to commit will revel in the accounts.
