5.0 out of 5 stars Make: Electronics - My Journey into Circuits
I recently delved into the fascinating realm of electronics, and it all began with "Make: Electronics." This isn't just a book; it's an insightful guide that unveils the inner workings of circuit design.Empowering Knowledge:As I flipped through its pages, I found a wealth of knowledge about resistors, capacitors, transistors, and more – the very building blocks of electronics. "Make: Electronics" helped me understand the intricate dance of these components in creating the devices we use every day. It's not just theory; it's a gateway to a deeper understanding.Learning Experience:My journey with this book was enlightening. It simplifies complex concepts, making them accessible to both newcomers and those with some prior knowledge. What truly sets it apart is the hands-on approach. Through practical experiments and projects, I didn't just read about electronics; I experienced it. It's an educational adventure that's as enjoyable as it is informative.Tools and Supplies:"Make: Electronics" doesn't stop at theory; it offers valuable guidance on the tools and supplies you'll need for your own electronics explorations. It's like having a trusted mentor by your side, ensuring you're well-equipped for your DIY endeavors.Inspiration and Creativity:One of the most inspiring aspects of this book is its encouragement of creativity. It sparks your imagination and challenges you to apply what you've learned. The inclusion of component kits tailored for the third edition is a brilliant touch, allowing you to put your newfound skills to practical use.In conclusion, "Make: Electronics" is more than just a book; it's a window into the world of electronics. Whether you're taking your first steps or you're already an enthusiast, this book offers invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience that will deepen your appreciation for electronics. My journey with this book has been immensely rewarding, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone curious about the inner workings of technology. It's an invitation to explore, learn, and create in the realm of electronics.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to follow.
If you want to start learning about electronics and how components work this book is a excellent choice very informative and easy to follow simple circuits to build your self highly recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book
The author is easy to read, explains things clearly and answers all the questions that would naturally come to mind as you read. You can feel the author's passion for the topic, which makes it a joy to go along for the ride.I have some experience in electronics but it's been 15 years since I touched a resistor or capacitor. I worried that this book might be too 'novice' for me, but because it is written and presented so well, that hasn't been an issue. With any topic, going back to basics with someone more knowledgeable than you will always teach you things you had forgotten or never knew, and that is exactly what this book delivers for me.

Bought this so that I and my grandson can learn something in this area. Clearly set out, informative. Looking forward to working my way through it.
The book I wish I had...
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Back when I started taking classes for electronics way back when, this is the book I wish I had. The classes I took went the traditional way of teaching the theory, and offering the occasional lab to reinforce the lesson. This book takes the opposite approach in that it teaches electronics from a very practical "hands-on" approach and then explains the theory behind what is going on in about as non-intimidating a manner as is possible. Personally I'm a kinesthetic learner, that is I learn best by doing, so this is the sort of book made for someone like me. The author in fact expects the reader to make mistakes and "smoke" components as he feels that is one way to learn, and it works. The math is minimal, and as long as the reader can do basic functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide), they will be fine. Likewise, this doesn't cover much in the way of theory, no Kirchoff's Law, Thevenin's Theorem, etc. It's just a very basic primer with the idea of exposing the reader/user to electronics on a functional/practical level, see if they like it, and the idea is to move on from there. For those who have been in the field a long time, obviously understanding the theory is indeed very important, and there are good texts available for doing that. Again, I emphasize that this isn't the goal of this book however... it's made for a rank beginner with no knowledge and just a curiosity to learn. Taken from that perspective, this book is a success!Highly recommended!
easy to read
being a person with little knowledge of electricity and components .The way that Charlse Platt has written so that a person like me begins to have an understanding of how electricity and electrolytic components work.
Everything is good
I haven't start to read yet. Quality of the book is good
The book has everything you need to know
Book is very helpful
Burn Thinfs Out , Mess Things Up ; That's How You Learn
Good Book, Learn a lot in just a few days of reading through. The best way to learn is with a component and test it together while reading the book. Instructions and components needed are clearly stated. Auture left out the math so that you could do research and figure it out yourself.
