5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for learners
Really good book can't wait to use it for studying purposes.
3.0 out of 5 stars This could help your brain!
Was pleasantly surprised by this book after reading some of the reviews.I had tried a different mind mapping book years ago when my children were at school - trying to help them revise! But I didn’t take to it and neither did they. I decided to try this book as I listened to a brilliant YouTube video on depression that said rumination is a big problem for depressions and the answer is to get things done. But that you can’t get things done when you can’t think straight and that’s because you can’t sequence things. I remembered mind mapping and thought that might be a way to help my mind sequence things. This book provides good explanations and gives examples of mind maps in a way the previous book I tried didn’t. I finally started making mind maps for myself. It’s too soon to say whether they help with depression - it was a bit of a long shot! - but it has helped me get lots of things down on paper that had been cluttering up my brain. This is a helpful book if you want to learn about mind mapping.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good
Clear explanations and good examples
2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Disappointing, mind maps too small and poor quality.
3.0 out of 5 stars Images too small
This is a great book to start you off mind mapping. I just found some of the images to be blurry and the font too small . That said the book has helped me with strategies to implement with my students.
1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing new, do not buy
Old contents, it is not worth the time of reading it. I would return it if I could. Save your money
1.0 out of 5 stars Almost useless
Illustrations are very small and black and white and hlcan barely be seeb
Livro prático e técnica muito útil
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } O livro define brevemente os conceitos relacionados ao mapeamento mental e foca em ferramentas, aplicações, melhores práticas e exemplos.
From a teacher
I picked it up mind mapping hoping to find a better way to help students organize information. What I found was a method that matched how many of them already think nonlinear, visual and layered. Mr Knight's book has helped me introduced the technique across grade levels and subjects and once my students gave it a try, they found it easier to make connections and recall the lectures, giving them a structure that feels right for them. What I do is have them share their mind maps to the class so they can learn from the creativity and organization of each other. Sometimes we'll build a large map from each student's individual maps as Kam describes in the chapter on group mind mapping. I've seen quieter students use mind maps to express the complex thoughts in their heads and more visual learners find their footing in subjects where they'd usually fall behind. This encouraged me to rethink how I present material and with Kam's guidance on presenting with mind maps I'm focused less on slides and more through mapped discussions or open-ended thinking webs.
I enjoyed this book and found it informative
Is interested in how your mind works then I think you will find mine mapping a helpful book and one that makes you question why and how you associate information in your brain
