Quickest I've read a book in a very long time. Sharp, thought-provoking and utterly addictive - I genuinely did not want to put it down -- SARAH TURNER, author of STEPPING UP and THE UNMUMSY MUM

A brilliant tale of life, relationships, rejection and familySUN

The queen of the revenge novel returns with a delightfully dark read about Maddy, a content creator whose brand is all about wholesome family life, and Iris whose marriage she destroyed. Oof! I am a huge fan of Fallon’s books and this one is no exception. To say she writes books with a revenge theme does not do justice to just how good her stories are. This one is masterful: we have Iris the scorned ex wife coping with the ashes from the bonfire of her marriage. But there’s so much more to it than that. In Just Got Real we see the sisterhood helping the rotter get his just desserts but this book is more nuanced with lovely twists and turns. The plotting is masterful and little touches like one of the protagonists publishing a book on 22 June, like this one, are sublime. I love all the characters and the themes of oversharing and social media:be careful what you ask for and what you say. The sisterhood is strong with this one too but unlike many books of the genre, the sisterhood is flawed too with people taking different paths and moving apart. Loved it and only sad I read it so quickly. 5⭐️

4.0 out of 5 stars Book

Jane Fallon is a very good author and I've read most of her books. A good story and there is nothing better than a bit of revenge to those who deserve it. "Don't get angry, get even". Works every time. Revenge is a dish best served cold as I have found out in my life more than once. Karma comes to he who deserves it. We all get Karma in our lives, because none of us are perfect, but there is Karma and Karma. A good read, would recommend. Don't mess with some of us, because we mess back harder. I can't use the word I would normally say, but you can probably guess what it is :-)

3.0 out of 5 stars It’s ok

I wouldn’t say this is hilarious, or sharply written. The stories ok, quite lame and lacking excitement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book

This book reignited my love of reading again after many years.I loved the way each chapter is from a different characters perspective and the story is cohesive and engaging. I loved the central storyline around the present issues over social media and how the author made it so easy to visualise the people and places with her excellent storytelling skills.I have since read Queen Bee and Worst idea ever and see Jane Fallon as one of my favourite authors now.Would definitely recommend

4.0 out of 5 stars Not my favourite.

Giving this book 4 stars mostly for the authors incredibly readable style. I have read all of her books and thoroughly enjoyed them however this one was lacking for me.I enjoyed the locations mentioned being local myself I could imagine exactly what streets/houses/pubs/restaurants she was describing but I found the storyline really sad and a bit grubby. The main character wasn't particularly likeable, you could sort of understand why she was behaving as she did but I frequently wanted to give her a good shake.Enjoyed the ending and as I said it was very readable but just not the best of Jane Fallon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping!

It’s a long time since I have been glued to a book like this and literally couldn’t put it down. A really great read and interesting how it is told in the eyes of the lead different characters, and a real life wake up calls re the perils of getting sucked in my social media.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite a good read

L. · 12 March 2024

I enjoyed the book and read it quite quickly as I was keen to know how it ended. I feel like the ending felt a little bit rushed in a way.The characters seemed quite real in a way as I felt I formed opinions on them. The main character Iris I wasn't sure if I liked at times. I also didn't feel like Cally and Fay her friends were very good friends as they seemed to ditch her where she didn't have a child and they did. I liked the room mate Carol and the sister Daisy.I felt the book shows the dangers of posting things on the internet and how easy it is to get caught up in social media which is true to life as you hear about trolling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet another fantastic read!!

I just love Jane Fallons books and this has been one of her best yet! I’ve laughed, I’ve cringed, I’ve literally held my breath at moments, and I’ve totally fallen in love with all the characters. I can picture them, picture all the places they are in….I pictured Maddy as the character Helen from the film Bridesmaids (Rose Byrne) and Iris as Iris in the film The Holiday (Kate Winslet)…the descriptive writing and humour but underlying pain in this story is just so accurately portrayed and I really feel like I’ve lived this journey with iris and felt all her emotions too, Jane just had a knack of making the characters so real. I just couldn’t put it down right from the beginning. I’d recommend this book to anyone, well worth buying and then passing onto to all your friends .

Brilliantly Funny

So many emotions! By the end I was rooting for everyone, except Tom, but you need to read the book. It's totally worth it!

Genial

Latest and always wonderful from Jane Fallon

Another wonderful page turner from Jane Fallon. Love her books.

As always, Jane has done a superb job with a moving, original tale.

S. · 6 January 2024

I’m one to speed read through pages of boring romance dribble, but never with Jane’s books. Every paragraph has a purpose and is interesting. This story flicks from corner to corner, with a slight surprise at each turn. Not totally unpredictable but enough substance there to keep you wondering. A really good, easy to read, captivating story.

Disappointing

n. · 15 October 2024

In the words of Iris, the heroine, it's " mind numbingly boring". Have read a few of Jane Fallon s books and found them fun and light hearted. But struggled with this one, gave up and donated it.
