About the Author

Francis Crosby has had a deep interest in aviation since an early age. After qualifying and working as an archaeologist, in 1985 he joined the Imperial War Museum's branch at Duxford, England, acknowledged as one of the world's leading centres for aviation enthusiasts. Having held research and exhibition posts at the museum, he headed Duxford's Marketing Department for many years before establishing his own consultancy. He has written extensively on historic aviation and has acted as a consultant for the media and the publishing industry. His published works include Bombers and The World Encyclopedia of Naval Aircraft.

I bought this encyclopedia for 9 year old. In hindsight i shouldnt have 'chanced' it.The seller did not provide images of the content of the book, nor provide recommended reading age (left blank) as other sellers do but thought I'd chance it.I didn't read the returns policy as most sellers on Bolo do give return postage.So not only is the book not suitable due to lack of information but I now have to pay to return it!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my son but there is a hole in one of the pages. Thankfully, it's on a preface page and not one detailing the aircraft. Unfortunately, a replacement won't get here in time.

Very good book. Very good photographs and information. A good material for Aircraft enthusiasts. Covers the History of combat aircrafts to various aircrafts from the world war era to this period. Missed a few Aircrafts like the Indian Tejus , Russian SU 57 etc. Worth the buy.
